Pulpo Three Cooked Octopus Legs

A pack of three small octopus legs, cooked and ready to eat. These can be sliced and eaten ‘a la Gallega’, or grilled lightly and served whole, as 'Pulpo a la Brasa'. Pulpo is considered a delicacy throughout Spain. Pulpo is especially revered in Galicia where the signature ‘Pulpo a la Gallega’ was created. Octopus is not only renowned for its distinct taste - but also, due to its low-calorie content, as a healthy meat. Our supplier is well known throughout Spain for the quality of their octopus each pack possessing a consistently firm texture (the sign of good pulpo) and a deep intense flavour. These Humboldt Squid tentacles are regularly used these days instead of octopus to create dishes like Pulpo a la Gallega; octopus itself is becoming less available and therefore very expensive. Calico Scallops in Galician Sauce

Tiny Calico scallops (Zamburinas) from the Rias Gallegas in northern Spain are gently sautéed in a light sauce of tomatoes, onion and peppers, olive oil and spices.

These scallops can be eaten cold, or served warm with a squeeze of lemon, and some fresh parsley on crusty bread.

Octopus in Galician Sauce

Pulpo a la Gallega - best-quality small, tender octopus pieces, flavoured with oil, salt, paprika and onion. This is a recipe from Galicia, traditionally made by Galician women (Gallegas) at street fairs, and served on simple wooden dishes known as pulpo boards, often with boiled potatoes and a glass of red wine as an accompaniment.
